NOVEMBER 2018 ACCM ACCREDITATION UPDATE:
Having assessed our application for accreditation, ACCM has decided to schedule a scoping site inspection visit to our campus.
JULY 2018 UPDATE:
As reported in a July 2018 statement from The Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, “Aureus University School of Medicine has initiated the accreditation process with ACCM.” Additionally, ECFMG has stated that “Aureus is making good faith efforts at obtaining accreditation by ACCM” the accrediting body for medical schools in Aruba and other Caribbean countries.
The US Department of Education’s National Committee on Foreign Medical Education and Accreditation (NCFMEA) determines whether the educational program of a foreign medical school, together with the standards and processes used to accredit it, are comparable to those in the United States. ACCM adheres to the NCFMEA Guidelines and acts as the representative agent on behalf of the countries for which it accredits, at hearings of the NCFMEA in Washington D.C.
ACCM has been granted recognition by the World Federation for Medical Education(WFME) for a period of ten years until 31 December 2026. This highly significant milestone ensures that ACCM is fully compliant with the Educational Commission on Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)’s requirements for an internationally recognized medical accrediting agency.*
