Students should be aware that many factors are considered in the selection of prospective students. Although the greatest weight is placed upon a student’s scholastic record, there are many additional factors that are taken into consideration during the admission process. Interviews help the admissions committee evaluate the student’s demeanor, communication skills, language proficiency, educational level, and degree of commitment. Students are encouraged to present a strong case for themselves by outlining their volunteer work, community contributions and scholastic achievements in their personal essay. Strong letters of recommendation are another important factor. There is no entrance examination requirement at present. MCAT scores are not required but are recommended and may impact the admission committee’s decision.
